The Idaho Stampede selected Pierre
Jackson with the fourth overall pick in the first round of the 2013-14
NBA Development League Draft. Jackson, a 5’10 guard, played at College
of Southern Idaho for two years before transferring to Baylor for his
Junior and Senior seasons.“We’re excited to have Pierre. He’s had success at various levels and we hope he’ll bring that success to Idaho,” said Stampede Head Coach Mike Peck.
In subsequent picks, the Stampede selected forward Kellen Thornton (6’7, Tennessee St.), forward Tracy Smith (6’8, NC State), forward Mohamed Fall (6’8, Montana St.), guard Dion Dixon (6’3, Cincinnati) and guard Reggie Hearn (6’4, Northwestern) to complete their draft.
The Idaho Stampede is an American basketball team that plays in the NBA Development League. The team is based in the Boise, Idaho, area. Since 2005 they have played at the CenturyLink Arena in Boise. The team was founded as a member of the Continental Basketball Association in 1997 and was league runner-up in the 2003–04 season, losing to the Dakota Wizards. After the 2005–06 season, the Stampede announced that the team would be joining the NBA Development League. The Stampede's sole NBA affiliate is the Portland Trail Blazers, with whom they have a hybrid partnership.[clarification needed] In the Stampede's first D-League season, the team won the Western Division title, tying for the best record in the league.

The Idaho Stampede will open their 20013-14 season in the NBA Development League on Friday, November 22 at 7:00 p.m. MST when they host the Bakersfield Jam at Qwest Arena in Downtown Boise.
The Idaho – Bakersfield contest is the first of 50 regular season games for the Stampede, 25 of which will take place at Qwest Arena.
