AXS CEO Troy McClain and His Soft Heart for Special Needs

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." - Mark Twain

Called a “Living Energy Drink” by the Idaho Press Tribune, Troy McClain focuses on growing people and businesses to great heights in his role as CEO of AXS Consulting / ALL AXS. He has spearheaded a number of startup, turnaround and growth companies. An international speaker, he has collaborated with the top names in business, including Warren Buffet, and has toured with Tony Robbins, Mark Victor Hansen (of Chicken Soup for the Soul) and many other influential leaders, athletes and entertainers.

Within all the fast paced and frequent media about Troy's success, there is a softer side to this driven businessman that some people don't get a chance to experience.

Troy lives in Boise, Idaho, with his wife, Crystal. He is the guardian of his special needs, adopted sister, DoraLynn, who  he affectionately calls “Kid Sis.”

"If you’ve been following my story you’re probably well acquainted with my kid sis and our families love for the gifts she shares with us every day," Troy says. "While she is profoundly deaf with special needs, she has more love, energy and inspiration worth experiencing than anyone I know.

For a few years, Troy's Kid Sis joined him in working at his office in Boise.

Troy described DoraLynn as:
"Always doing her job with a smile, a little sass, and good humor, Over the years I have wished she could hear my laughs and hear the enjoyment she has brought to our friends and family and experience the sounds of the world around her."
In this Inspirational video, Troy McClain teaches people about life lessons learned from people with disabilities that are beyond the obvious.

Hearing is something we take for granted every day, Troy says:
We forget just how special the littlest sounds truly are. The sound of leaves blowing in the wind or birds chirping in the trees. At first glance it may not mean much to those who possess the sense of hearing but to those who don’t it would be life changing.
I’ve always held the belief that in order to get ahead you must give back. Giving back to the special needs community is something that I am very passionate about.
Through his dedication to DoraLynn, Troy set about to teach others how he learned from the adaptations she and other people with disabilities make to have more successful lives with very special challenges, he told the Idaho Press Tribune. Those strengths, he says, can help anyone. "She's the one who taught me how to listen; non-verbal communication skills," Troy recalls. "It's how to read people who are saying no but really saying yes and vice versa. It transcends beyond the secrets of Donald Trump and Bill Gates."
