I love stories in which justice is served with a happy ending. And when it comes to stories from "great" companies, greatness, like, many objectives, is in the eye of the beholder. One simple test for greatness is how a company is experienced by its constituents – its customers, its associates, and the community-at-large.

It’s a well-known fact that TSheets helps business owners save hundreds of hours and thousands of dollars each year, writes Myranda Mondry in a Dec. 16 blog on the TSheets website. She continues: "but did you know that TSheets has also saved an employee from wrongful conviction? Or that it’s saved a stolen smartphone from the hands of a thief?"
I have been following the work of TSheets CEO Matt Rissell, since being introduced to this emerging leader a few years ago. Did you hear the latest news? TSheets even saved a stolen truck.
According to the news report, the 2000 Chevrolet Silverado was stolen by 23-year-old Jide Frederick-Lloyd, a resident of Decatur, Georgia. Before he could get too far, he was located and arrested by Metter police.

But here’s what the news report doesn’t tell you:
The truck was owned by an employee of Full Turn Services, a property maintenance and preservation company located in Savannah, Georgia. The employee had left the truck for a matter of seconds while he double checked that he had locked the door of the property he was leaving. Unfortunately, a matter of seconds was all it took for Frederick-Lloyd to hop behind the wheel.
When the employee realized what had happened, he immediately contacted the police and alerted them to the theft, but, by then, Frederick-Lloyd was nowhere to be found.
That’s when Emil Mrsic, owner of Full Term Services, remembered one very important detail: the employee had been tracking his time using TSheets at the time of the theft — and TSheets was tracking the phone’s location.
Mrsic signed in to his TSheets account, navigated to the Who’s Working window, and clicked on the employee’s location. From there, he (and the police) tracked the stolen vehicle’s location using TSheets.
The police caught the bandit nearly 60 miles away and recovered the employee’s stolen truck, and it’s all thanks to Mrsic’s quick thinking and TSheets’ accurate-to-the-second time and location tracking.
"Stolen vehicle recovery isn’t the only benefit of GPS location tracking within the workplace — studies show that employees appreciate the payroll accuracy, increased accountability, and sense of safety that comes with workplace GPS," TSheets says.
Myranda is a reader, a writer, and a lover of the ‘80s. Her passion for the written word manifested itself during her time at Boise State University, where she majored in many things (including, but not limited to, Medieval Literature) and eventually graduated with a B.A. in Journalism. Since then, she has worked in editing, publishing, and marketing -- but the title “Badass Blogger” seems to fit her best.
